City of Newcastle is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Curatorial Officer (Exhibitions) to join the Newcastle Art Gallery team in a newly created role.As a key position in Newcastle Art Gallery's expanded Curatorial and Exhibitions Team, the Curatorial Officer (Exhibitions) will support the development and delivery of our ambitious artistic program, including offsite projects and temporary exhibitions that span the Gallery's local, national, and global remit. Under the direction of the Exhibitions Lead, the Curatorial Officer (Exhibitions) will contribute to innovative and commercially successful exhibition projects, support artists and curators to realise their work, and ensure industry best practice in curatorial exhibition administration.The Curatorial Officer (Exhibitions) will collaborate across the Curatorial and Exhibitions team to realise high-quality exhibitions of temporary loans, new commissions, and the Gallery's permanent collection. The Curatorial Officer (Exhibitions) will also contribute actively to the development and delivery of interpretive material relating to the artistic program, through writing, public talks and digital content in collaboration with Audience and Curatorial teams.This role will suit an organised individual with experience developing and delivering temporary exhibitions for broad audiences, a keen eye for detail, with broad knowledge of contemporary art.What’s it like working at the City of Newcastle?
