Künstlerhaus Meinersen: 2024–25 Art Scholarship with Residency (Germany)

The Gemeinde und Samtgemeinde Meinersen have set the goal of promoting young contemporary art while simultaneously providing current impulses to the cultural offerings of the region. To advance this goal, they are offering a scholarship with a residency at the Meinersen Artists’ House, under the theme of ‘simulation’.


The scholarship is designed for a maximum of 12 months, beginning by agreement on 1 October 2024. The organisation and implementation of the scholarship have been entrusted to the association Künstlerhaus Meinersen e.V.This is an in-person scholarship; the recipient is expected to primarily reside and work at the Artists’ House during the scholarship period. 


The works created during this time are to be made accessible to the public in consultation with the board of directors at the Meinersen Artists’ House, typically during a concluding exhibition.Additionally, the recipient is obligated to conceive and implement at least one project of contemporary art mediation. 


The project should have a connection to the resident’s own work and involve the population in an appropriate manner (performance, public events, projects with schools, teaching courses, etc.). 


Funds required for this purpose may be provided by the association upon request. Furthermore, participation in actions and events of the Artists’ House is expected by arrangement.Graduates of art schools and Universities up to a maximum age of 35 are preferred.


The scholarship includes rent-free accommodation at the Meinersen Artists’ House (living and studio space) as well as a monthly stipend of 800 EUR.
