Our Mission

All About Curating gUG (haftungsbeschränkt) is a Berlin-based nonprofit organization dedicated to making curatorial knowledge, education, professional development, and international collaboration more accessible to artists, curators, researchers, and other cultural workers worldwide.

Our mission is to decentralize and democratize knowledge about contemporary curatorial practice by creating accessible platforms for learning, exchange, mentorship, research, and collaboration across geographical, cultural, and institutional boundaries.

We achieve this through educational programs, mentorship and professional development initiatives, curatorial portfolio reviews, public talks and discussions, international networking, research projects, and open-access knowledge resources.

Our programs include Ask A Curator, Creative Synergies, Art Intensive Berlin, AAC Talks, and Global Resources, alongside ongoing initiatives that connect arts professionals and facilitate the exchange of curatorial knowledge internationally.

AAC serves a global community of artists, curators, researchers, art managers, writers, editors, cultural workers, and emerging arts professionals, with a particular commitment to creating opportunities for diverse and underrepresented perspectives within the international art and curatorial field.

How We Started?

All About Curating (AAC) began modestly as a Facebook group titled "Curatorial Opportunities" in 2019. Recognizing the scarcity of accessible, dedicated platforms for curatorial opportunities, Mahzabin Haque created an open Facebook group to address this gap. She invited fellow curators, artists, and scholars to join, sharing every curatorial opportunity she encountered. Over time, this grassroots initiative flourished, evolving into a vibrant community that, by 2024, comprises over 5,700 global art workers, including curators, artists, researchers, editors, critics, writers, and museologists.

Evolution into a Structured Platform

As the group expanded, so did the interests and expectations of its members. Recognizing Facebook's limitations in providing the necessary infrastructure for organized knowledge dissemination, Mahzabin envisioned a more structured web platform. This new platform aimed to offer greater value by systematically centralizing and sharing curatorial information. To bring this vision to life, Mahzabin convened a Global Member’s Meeting, seeking the community’s input and participation in reshaping the group into what is now All About Curating (AAC).

Community-Driven Development

The response was overwhelmingly positive. Over 60 art workers from around the world attended the meeting, and 61 individuals from 37 countries volunteered to contribute to developing the group, participating in up to two collaborative circles each. Under Mahzabin Haque's leadership and with guidance from the Board of Advisors, these circle members—known as AAC Ambassadors—regularly meet over Zoom. These meetings serve as shared spaces for knowledge exchange, mutual support, and collective decision-making about the platform's future.

Meet Our Founder

MAHZABIN HAQUE

Mahzabin Haque is a Bangladeshi-born, Berlin-based art curator, educator, and cultural strategist with over 14 years of experience working across the international art and cultural sector. Her practice is grounded in a central question: what happens when curatorial knowledge becomes shared infrastructure rather than guarded terrain? She examines how institutions operate, how careers take shape, and how knowledge circulates, developing ecosystems of communities, learning formats, and organizational structures designed to open access across borders.

As a curator, Mahzabin develops international and community-led formats that respond to the structural opacity of the art world, creating direct encounters between art workers, institutions, and the public. As an educator, she designs learning environments grounded in horizontal exchange, cross-cultural dialogue, and long-term relationship building—spaces where knowledge is produced collectively rather than transmitted from above. As a cultural strategist, she builds and sustains ecosystems from the ground up, guided by an ethos of horizontality, collective knowledge production, porous group dynamics, community, and, above all, humane practice.

These three strands converge in All About Curating (AAC), the decentralized global network she founded to make curatorial knowledge, professional opportunities, and networks more accessible across geographical and institutional borders. AAC has developed outreach across more than 154 countries and collaborated with 50+ cultural institutions in Berlin.

Mahzabin is also the founder of Symbiosis: A Space for Art, Science & Technology, a platform dedicated to transdisciplinary inquiry through the perspectives and practices of art workers from the Global Majority, creating spaces, networks, and access that have long been unevenly distributed.

At the heart of her practice is a simple belief: projects come and go, but relationships stay. It is an ethos she brings to everything she builds, cultivates, and nurtures.
