A space for critical dialogue

Because every practice deserves dialogue

Ask A Curator is a free monthly one-to-one curatorial consultation program by All About Curating (AAC), created for artists, curators, researchers, writers, art managers, and other artworkers seeking thoughtful professional dialogue around their practice.

Each selected participant receives a dedicated 60-minute online conversation with an experienced curator. Rather than offering quick advice or generic portfolio feedback, the session creates a focused space to critically examine artistic, curatorial, or research projects, discuss professional questions, and explore possible directions for future development.

Participants are encouraged to bring projects in any stage of development—from early ideas and research to ongoing works, exhibition proposals, funding applications, or broader career questions. The conversation is shaped by the participant's own concerns, making every session unique.

At AAC, we believe that meaningful conversations are often as important as formal education. Sometimes what a practice needs is not another workshop or course, but an honest, rigorous dialogue with someone who can ask the right questions, identify blind spots, and help clarify possibilities.

Democratizing Access to Curatorial Knowledge

Access to meaningful conversations with experienced curators often depends on geography, institutional affiliation, or professional networks. Ask A Curator opens that access by creating a free platform where artworkers from anywhere in the world can engage in thoughtful, professional dialogue about their practice.

Supporting Critical Reflection Beyond Formal Education

Not every artistic or curatorial challenge requires another course or workshop. Many practitioners simply need time to think through ideas with someone experienced enough to ask difficult questions, offer critical perspectives, and help clarify future directions. This program creates that space.

Building a More Connected Global Art Community

AAC believes that knowledge grows through exchange. By bringing together practitioners from different countries, disciplines, and career stages, Ask A Curator fosters conversations that strengthen international networks while encouraging collaboration, mutual learning, and solidarity across the cultural sector.
