Humboldt Forum & Nikolaikirche

Yesterday, today, tomorrow: Much of what happens in Berlin has an impact on the world. And much of what happens in the world affects Berlin. BERLIN GLOBAL shows how the city and its people are connected to the world. On the first floor of the Humboldt Forum, the exhibition will present Berlin as part of a richly interconnected world. It tells the story of how the city, its people, and the events originating there have changed the world, and conversely, how global events affect Berlin – then as now.
It's a contemporary look at the city and its global connections, spread across 4,000 square meters. The exhibition's individual themed rooms explore themes of revolution, freedom, boundaries, pleasure, war, fashion, and interconnectedness. These are aspects that can be found in other metropolises as well, but in this combination, they are exemplary of Berlin. Expansive installations and atmospheric displays lead visitors into diverse thematic worlds, reflecting the multifaceted nature of Berlin.
