BIOGRAPHY
Burcu Ertunc was born in Bursa, Turkey, in 1980. She completed her Bachelor of Business Administration in Turkey, followed by a Bachelor of Psychology and a Master of Organisational Psychology in London, England.
She began taking photographs with her father's camera when she was 12 years old and took her first serious step into the world of photography by enrolling in the IFSAK Foundations of Photography training in 1999. Living in different parts of the world and travelling to many countries, she sought ways to express her cross-cultural experiences through the language of photography.
She completed the Professional Photography Program at Spéos Photo Video CGI school in Paris in 2022. Subsequently, she graduated from the Photography and Camera Operation Diploma Program at Anadolu University in Turkey in 2023.
In her work, which centres on the relationship between psychology and photography, she explores inner narratives about journeys of identity and self. She continues to produce photographs for various individual and group projects and works as an advertising photographer in the photography studio she has established."
