BIOGRAPHY

Didem Erbas is an Istanbul-based visual artist whose practice investigates the sociopolitical landscape of Turkey through themes of geography, housing, and spatial transformation. Her work explores how human intervention reshapes both urban and natural environments, often connecting architecture with the technologies and strategies of war, including drones, and with the hidden micro-worlds of terrestrial creatures. Through installations, paintings, and videos, she reflects on processes of destruction, memory, and shifting perspectives between the human and more-than-human. She holds a BA in Painting from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University and an MA in Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design from Sabancı University. Her works have been exhibited internationally in cities such as London, Paris, Berlin, and New York, with support from institutions including Cité Internationale des Arts (IKSV), Delfina Foundation (SAHA), and the School of Visual Arts in New York (Turkish-American Society).
