BIOGRAPHY

Gabriela Flores is a Honduran artist working across photography and documentary cinema. She graduated in Audiovisual Arts from the National University of La Plata, Argentina. Her practice moves between image, memory and territory through a sustained attention to queer experience, forced displacement and the ways communities hold themselves together under pressure.

Gabriela Flores's documentary May the Monsters Not Return follows trans women navigating violence and everyday survival in Honduras, and has screened at film festivals across Latin America. Her photographic work has been shown in collective exhibitions across the Americas. Her work has received support from the Polvo art clinic (2025), been developed through a documentary residency at EICTV (2026), and presented at FotocreativaBA (2025). She is also developing Elena, a short animated film supported by a production grant and selected for ShortsLab Costa Rica (2026).

Her practice combines observational fieldwork and archival research in close collaboration with participants, treating documentary as a process shaped through relationship, context and duration. It is rooted in Central America, particularly Honduras, and remains in dialogue with artistic and cinematic networks across the Southern Cone.
