Tasmina’s creative practice centres on the exploration of memory, connection, and belonging. Rooted in her lived experiences of diaspora, her work reflects on how personal and collective memories shape one’s sense of self and place. As a first-generation female migrant, Tasmina’s practice delves into the tensions and affinities that arise from the complex emotions of straddling two worlds — her birthplace and her chosen homeland, and the spaces of belonging that emerge in between. Her work is also guided by environmental consciousness, acknowledging the profound relationship between people and the natural world. She explores how landscapes hold memory and emotion, acting as vessels for connection and continuity, while reminding us of our shared responsibility to care for the environments that sustain us.
