Bianca Duarte

Colombia, Germany

BIOGRAPHY

Born in 1990 in Bogotá, Colombia, Bianca Duarte draws inspiration from the vibrant light, color, and cultural richness of her hometown. Bianca pursued studies in Political Science and Visual Arts at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, enriching her education with workshops in drawing, watercolor, mixed media, and acrylics. Her artistic journey took a pivotal turn in 2012 when she moved to Switzerland, where she worked at the United Nations and sketched scenes inspired by political themes and everyday life.
In 2020, after settling in Germany, Bianca embraced her passion for art wholeheartedly, balancing her full-time job with her pursuit of artistic expression. Her work reflects a quest to find her unique voice, and developing her artwork to create a conversation with contemporary art. Art is her passion and reason for living, that is why she pursues a professional journey through painting.
Now based in Munich, Bianca continues to refine her craft through workshops with artists like Volker Zacharias, Michael Wörle, and Elvira Bach. Her recent exhibitions include Kunstlabor 2 Kunstmarkt, Artothek Neufahrn bei Freising, and an online exhibition with Make Art Gallery.

PROJECT TITLE

Re:Visionary Women

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project will reinterpret and search synergies of four iconic paintings by women artists who have portrayed feminime topics or women. By infusing each interpretation with my unique artistic language—utilizing banana leaves to symbolize growth and transformation, and spirals to convey dynamism in thoughts—I will create a cohesive series that honors these trailblazers while embedding my own perspective on femininity. Explore dynamic compositions that weave together the essence of the original works with a contemporary abstract interpretation. Ideas on of artists: Frida Kahlo, Artemisia Gentileschi , Georgia O’Keeffe, Elvira Bach
