The Bildraum Studio, located in the Brotfabrik cultural center in Vienna, offers 170 m² of workspace, providing ideal conditions for realizing and presenting large-scale projects and works. The open call is aimed at national and international artists working

in the following disciplines:
painting, photography, sculpture, installation, performance, graphic arts,
media art & new media art, design, architecture, and art & science.

Residency periods and focus

• January - mid-March 2027
  For artists living in Austria in the fields of: painting, photography, sculpture, installation, graphic arts, media art & new media art, design, architecture and art & science.

• End of March - beginning of June 2027
  For artists living in Austria in the fields of: painting, photography, sculpture, installation, graphic arts, media art & new media art, design, architecture and art & science.

• Mid-June - Mid-July 2027
  For artists from the fields of dance, choreography and performance.

• End of July - Mid-December 2027
  For international artists in the fields of: painting, photography, sculpture, installation, graphic arts, media art & new media art, design, architecture and art & science.

Bildraum Studio in the Brotfabrik Vienna

A spacious studio and an inspiring meeting place in one – the Bildraum Studio at Bildrecht offers 170 m² of space for realizing and presenting large-format works and expansive projects. In addition to the workspace with underfloor heating, the studio includes a separate sleeping area, a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and toilet, storage space, and an adjoining art terrace.

The Bildraum Studio is made available based on an open call and the decision of the SKE jury. Projects developed on-site are partially financed by Bildrecht based on a fixed FairPay fee.
