Fluxus Art Projects

Fluxus Art Projects financially supports projects that promote the contemporary French art scene in the UK and the contemporary British art scene in France.


Eligibility Criteria


For exhibition projects:

• Affiliated to the field of visual arts in the broadest sense across all disciplines.

• Projects by living France-based and French artists in the UK and UK-based and British artists in France.

• Applications must be submitted by the organising institution or association and not by the artists themselves. Qualifying organisations fall into the following categories: non-for-profit art centres, museums, cultural institutions, research centres, online projects, artists' publications.

• Sums allocated range from £1,000 to £10,000. We do not support 100% funding of projects. Grants must not exceed 50% of the expenses but must represent at least 5% of the project's total budget. Eligible expenses fall in the following categories: production, fees, transport, travel, accommodation, communication, publication.


For curatorial research trips:

• Applications must be made directly by the curators.

• The candidates must be French or based in France for at least five years / British or based in the UK for at least five years; have a minimum of three years of professional experience or provide evidence of significant professional practice within an art organisation or as an independent curator in the field of contemporary art.

• Applicants affiliated with institutions must present authorisation from their institution to travel for the proposed research.

• The grant amount for each curatorial research trip is £1,000.


Please note that Fluxus Art Projects will prioritise innovative practices and the production of new works.


Open Call

Fluxus Art Projects issues its own call for applications, twice a year. The first round of applications, for projects to be held between January and June, closes in November of the previous year. The second round, for projects happening between July and December of the current year, closes in May.

Twice a year, before the application period begins, an email will be widely circulated to art professionals in France and the United Kingdom. Deadlines will be prominently displayed on this website and announced on our social networks.

All applications must be written in English. 

Each project submitted should generate a confirmation email.
