The artist-in-residence programs initiated by the MBB offer selected filmmakers the opportunity to gain international experience and network. The grants typically include travel expenses, accommodation, and a monthly stipend.

Air Berlin - Paris - 3 Months

Exchange program for filmmakers from Berlin-Brandenburg and France, initiated by MBB, the Institut Français Germany, and the City of Paris.

Filmmakers from France should contact our partner institution, the City of Paris, Department of Cultural Affairs . The Berlin residency of the French scholarship recipients will be managed by the Nipkow Program.

Exchange program for filmmakers from Berlin-Brandenburg and Greece, initiated by MBB, the Goethe-Institut Thessaloniki , and the Thessaloniki Film Festival.

Exchange program for filmmakers from Berlin-Brandenburg and Mexico, initiated by MBB and the Guanajuato International Film Festival, supported by the Goethe-Institut Mexico.

Exchange program for filmmakers from Berlin-Brandenburg and India, initiated by MBB and the Goethe-Institut Mumbai.

Filmmakers from India should contact our partner institution, the Goethe-Institut Max Müller Bhavan Mumbai . The Berlin residency of the Indian scholarship recipients will be supported by the Nipkow Program.

Exchange program for filmmakers from Berlin-Brandenburg and Israel, initiated by MBB and the Israel Film Fund, funded by the Society for the Protection of Film and Television Rights (GWFF). 

Unfortunately, no scholarships are currently being awarded.

Filmmakers from Israel should contact our partner institution, the Israel Film Fund . The Berlin residency of Israeli scholarship recipients will be managed by the Nipkow Programme.
