About Fubon Art Museum
Located in the heart of Taipei’s Xinyi District, Fubon Art Museum opened in 2024. We are dedicated to becoming a center for modern and contemporary art, and a portal to the global art community.
Our mission is to ignite the creative spirit in the citizens of Taiwan and all those who visit our space by connecting the wonder of art to everyday experience. Showcasing the works of emerging and established artists both locally and globally, we will use art as a conduit to connect Taipei to the global art world.
Overview of the Role
Fubon Art Museum is looking for a Modern Art Research Curator to contribute to exhibition research, concept development, and curatorial writing. The role collaborates across teams to support meaningful exhibition experiences, while also managing research archives, reviewing texts, and assisting with public programs.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct research on modern art, maintain research archives, and support the development of exhibition themes and curatorial narratives.
• Propose artists and artworks, review exhibition texts and publications, plan exhibition layouts, and oversee production.
• Collaborate across departments to integrate research and coordinate with artists and partner institutions.
• Assist with talks, panels, workshops, and academic programs to support public and educational engagement.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and documentation.
Candidate Profile
• PhD in art history, Museology, Cultural Studies, or an equivalent doctoral degree in a related field.
• Ideally at least eight years of relevant experience in museums or corporate collections, covering collection strategy, exhibitions, publications and mediation.
• Strong knowledge of administration, museum operations, and institutional decision-making processes.
• Excellent understanding of modern art, mediation, and the conception and delivery of national and international exhibitions.
• Good knowledge of the art market and exhibition landscape.
• Strong negotiation and communication abilities across internal teams and external partners.
• International mindset with creative, strategic thinking.
• High level of commitment, flexibility, and willingness to travel.
• Excellent Mandarin and good English skills; additional languages a plus.
