TROEF is calling for curators!

This Open Call invites curators (in the making) to organise a group show with 3-4 exhibitors at TROEF. Individuals or duo curators are welcome to apply. You don’t have to have experience but your resume should show that you have worked in the field of the arts. TROEF accepts works across all media but the artist should be professional recent graduates (max 2 yrs) and from the field of fine arts as this is our focus area.

Your show will be part of our series called ‘In Shared Air’ . Within this series we put emphasis on difference and equality in society. TROEF zooms in on the various factors that play a role in this, such as physical and mental limitations, age, sexual orientation, gender, origin, race, appearance, thing/animal/plant/person, education and (socio)economic status.

Important:
👉The curator may decide for himself what the subject of the exhibition will be and organise whatever he/she wants, as long as it is connected to the overarching theme as described above.

👉The artist that are selected should be graduated recently (2023, 2024 or 2025 graduates)

👉The show has minimum of 3 and max of 4 artists

Application deadline: 14th May 23:59

Exhibition periods:
🗓️22 august – 12 october 2025 (start organising 26 June 2025)

🗓️31 october – 21 december 2025 (start organising 4 Sept 2025)

The application can be in English or Dutch.

🚨Only applications following the guidelines as described in this post above will be considered for review.

💛What TROEF offers:

Curating an exhibition at TROEF

Marketing and promoting the exhibition (posters, flyers, social media).

Fair pay of the curator (you) and artist fee/honorarium following the Dutch fair pay agreement (as described on www.kunstenaarshonorarium.nl).

Our gallery consists of one white room with large windows facing the street and the courtyard, the courtyard could also be used in consultation.

The exhibition will be open for a total of 8 weeks (Fri-Sun).
