Kulturprojekte Berlin GmbH, a state-owned company, supports the promotion, networking, and dissemination of culture in the capital. As a competent partner for Berlin's cultural sector and the state of Berlin, the company conceives and organizes complex cultural projects and citywide initiatives, as well as themed years dedicated to contemporary historical events, commemorative days, and anniversaries. It operates venues and festivals and provides services to museums and other cultural institutions in the city.
Berlin Art Week will take place for the 15th time from September 9-13, 2026, bringing together outstanding figures from Berlin's contemporary art scene. It is a project of Kulturprojekte Berlin, which is responsible for conception, management, coordination, and communication. During Berlin Art Week, renowned institutions of contemporary Berlin art, Berlin galleries, an art fair, private collectors, and selected project spaces will present a diverse program of exhibition openings, events, and special projects. As a central festival hub, Berlin Art Week will establish a shared meeting point at a temporary pop-up location, inviting visitors to exchange ideas, discover new art, and participate through a comprehensive program of events and educational activities.
Tasks:
We are looking for a person with organizational talent, a good understanding of budget planning and administrative processes, and experience in team management.
In close collaboration with the Artistic Director, the position includes:
Project coordination and management of Berlin Art Week
Continuous development and positioning of the project in coordination with the artistic director and department head.
Comprehensive project planning, preparation and implementation including scheduling/management
Further development of the internal project structure and processes, including team building and management, together with the artistic director
Coordination with funding providers and supporters
Control and coordination of administrative processes in close connection with the Administration department:Budget planning and controlling including budget and liquidity monitoring
Initiation, management and implementation of tenders and contracts, including contract award after prior coordination with the Administration department and preparation of award notices.
Sponsorship management, sponsor acquisition and cooperation
Management and organizational planning and implementation of own events / formats within the framework of the festival, including guest management
Responsible for coordinating interfaces between team members and other areas of cultural projects (department management, technology, administration, communication, etc.)
Creating project documentation, evaluations and factual reports
Your profile:
6 years of total professional experience (including training): successfully completed studies or equivalent training and/or professional experience with comparable tasks
Extensive experience in project management, coordination and control, preferably in a cultural or artistic context.
very good knowledge of Berlin's art and cultural scene
Extensive experience in the guidance and supervision of employees
sound experience in handling public funds
very good German skills

Contract duration: limited until December 31, 2027
The job interviews are expected to take place from weeks 6 and 7 onwards.
This is a full-time position with 39.4 hours per week. According to our company collective agreement, the gross monthly salary (full-time) corresponding to the responsibilities of this vacancy is €4,471.44 (plus a pro-rata annual bonus of €250 gross per month, paid at the end of the year).
